In these political posts I try very hard to be as neutral as possible and let the astrology speak but sometimes my bias will creep in. Whatever your politics I think we can all agree that Donald Trump loves the spotlight, so he’s probably running the fervor of speculation surrounding his running mate right now. Ron Filipowski, a former Republican and current Trump nemesis, posted this article about why Elise Stefanik will be Trump’s running mate. Apparently Trump is leaning towards choosing a woman to help raise his profile among women and he probably wants a running mate who will not challenge him or tell him what to do. Also, Trump is obsessed with optics and the look of the people around him.
That is one reason that back in January I predicted on Twitter that Kristi Noem will be his VP pick. She is an extremely attractive Republican governor in a Trump-leaning state, and as a TV star he does like to surround himself with attractive people who look like they’re right out of central casting.

The astrology of Kristi Noem. Astrologically, Noem has a very mutable and optimistic chart, with a Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Sagittarius squaring an easy going Pisces Mars. She is a hard worker (Saturn opposite Sun) but likely overly critical of herself (Saturn retrograde). Saturn retrograde people tend not to blame others for their problems which would be useful as Trump’s sidekick.
Her emphasis in Sagittarius positivity will feel good to his Sagittarius Moon. She can be stubborn, as her Taurus Moon reveals, but she is also loyal (Venus in Capricorn). More importantly, there aren’t very many difficult aspects between Noem and Trump’s charts except for one rather important one: Her Pisces Mars (assertive style) is squared by his Uranus which can signify frequent conflict. However, with her Mars in “go with the flow” Pisces, her reactions would tend to be more passive aggressive than lead to outright conflict.
Noem is in one of my favorite planetary cycles right now: The harmonious trine of transiting Pluto to natal Pluto, and transiting Jupiter is also trine her natal Pluto. These cycles suggest an unfolding of greater empowerment; an event which could lift up her career and generally achieving a great deal in her life.

The astrology of Elise Stefanik. Stefanik was born with three planets in Cancer, the sign of the family and feelings. She is an emotional thinker (Mercury in Cancer) and with Venus in Cancer she deeply cares for the people around her (Trump also has Venus in Cancer). She has a Leo Moon and with it the longing to feel special, to feel chosen, and her Moon is in a trine to Trump’s Moon signifying an emotional bond and connection. However, Trump’s Mars is in a tight conjunction to her Moon. This is not synastric aspect which leads to a comfortable partnership.
Stefanik’s Mars is in Scorpio, the sign which it rules. A planet in its home sign is stronger, and those with Mars in Scorpio have a very strong Will. Her Mars is in a harmonious trine to her Sun, which further enhances her strong desire nature, but retrograde Saturn conjunct her Mars often puts the brakes on her needs and longings. This can lead to a lifetime of frustration until we learn to find greater balance between our desires (Mars) and the things which hold us back (Saturn).
There are indications here of a power struggle, with Stefanik’s Pluto (power) in a challenging square to Trump’s Venus. She will not be the pliable underling that I believe he is looking for.
I don’t like to make predictions because I don’t like to be wrong, but for all these reasons, I predict that Kristi Noem, not Elise Stefanik, will be Trump’s VP pick.
