Cazimi occurs when a planet is within a degree of the Sun, and that is the situation this weekend. Mars and the Sun, both in Mars-ruled Scorpio, have been within a degree of each other since last Wednesday and the exact conjunction occurred very early Saturday morning EST. We still have a few days of this fiery alignment but so far rumors of disaster have not come to pass.

More musings on the Egyptian revolution

I was listening to the BBC news coverage of the momentous events in Egypt, and one of the journalists remarked that the protesters in Egypt no longer have any fear of the oppressive government.
