Pluto conjunct Galactic Center

The individual experience of Pluto on the Galactic Center

As we approach the mid-phase of Pluto’s conjunction to the Galactic Center I’ve received several emails asking about how this is likely to affect us on a more personal level, and the fact is that we really don’t know. There are very few astrologers who use the Galactic Center in charts, and therefore there is little research to suggest what forms this experience may take. However it manifests we can be sure of one thing: it will be different for everyone depending on their charts.

There was an active argument on a listserve last year about whether or […]

Pluto and the Galactic Center, Part II

Pluto will conjunct the Galactic Center in July for the second time as Pluto retrogrades in Sagittarius, with the final hit coming in October of this year. This event only occurs once every 248 years and appears to portend a shift in cultural awareness. The Mayans were familiar with the Galactic Center, which they thought to be the source of all creation and which they called Hunab Ku.

Rather than a big and showy cataclysmic event, this cycle of Pluto (transformation) to the center of our galaxy is more likely to […]

Pluto, the Galactic Center, Ceres and Bees

Jill wrote a post yesterday about the sudden disappearance of honeybees, and subsequent research turned up this article which connects weather anomalies to changes in the Gulf Stream circuit, an event which occurred between December 11 and 19th just as Pluto was making its first conjunction to the Galactic Center. There is a link which shows a short period where the Gulf Stream stops flowing towards Europe and flows back down without completing its normaly circuit. Earlier this month I wrote about my hypothesis that the effect of Pluto conjunct the GC, which historically has […]

Ceres and the Pluto/Galactic Center Conjunction

hot-earth
As most of you know, Pluto was reclassified last year joining Ceres and Eris as dwarf planets (I personally wish they had kept the initial name of Plutons, but oh well). This has not changed the effect that Pluto has in the birthchart, which is to bring us face to face with our deepest fears and our highest destiny, but it introduced two new elements to the Plutonic process: Ceres and the newly discovered Eris.

Last December Pluto conjoined the Galactic Center for the first time in 248 years. The Galactic Center is […]

The Pluto process and the galactic center shift

With Mars conjunct Pluto and the G.C. this week there are a lot of theories about the significance, if any, of the Galactic Center shift. The spirituality boards are fired up and here are some of the things I’ve found:

Mars conjuncts Pluto near the Galactic Center on the 13th. Mars then enters Capricorn on the 16th. The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20th. Jupiter in Sagittarius squares Uranus in Pisces on the 22nd. Venus enters Pisces on the 27th. There’s a sense of deepening heaviness, gravity as time goes on. It’s ironic that the energies are so flowing now in […]

We are living in a Renaissance time

Neith posted this article by Raymond Merriman:

We are living in a Renaissance time, and most of us do not even know it, or cannot find the time to step back and appreciate it. Every 500 years Neptune and Pluto return to their same spatial relationship to one another. Every 171 years, Uranus and Neptune do the same. And every 126 years, Uranus and Pluto do the same. Three Uranus-Neptune cycles approximately equals one Neptune-Pluto cycle. And four Uranus-Pluto cycles equal approximately one Neptune-Pluto cycle. That means every 500 years or so, these 3 outermost planets in our solar system […]

Unconscious Complexes revealed by Pluto and the Galactic Center

I have just found an astoundingly interesting website from a woman named Anne Baring, a Jungian analyst with a fantastically diverse view of the relationship of the soul to the world and the cosmos. Her article The Struggle for Primacy and Dominance and the Roots of War struck me as being particularly relevant to the conjunction of Pluto to the Galactic Center that began this year and will continue throughout 2007.

I’ve excerpted a bit here but do read the whole article if you have the time:

For over fifty years the concentration on the development of nuclear, biological and chemical […]

Pluto and the Galactic Center through History

The exact conjunction of Pluto to the Galactic Center will occur at the end of this month. The Galactic Center is the rotational center of the Milky Way Galaxy in which we make our home. This is the first time that Pluto has been conjunct the Galactic Center since that point was discovered and mapped, so this is a new point of experience. In March Pluto made a station within a degree of the exact conjunction at which point the energy of this event began to manifest for this current cycle.

In […]

Pluto and the Galactic Center

galactic-centerPluto will conjoin the Galactic Center this year for the first time in 248 years. The Galactic Center is the center around which a spiral galaxy such as our own galaxy, the Milky Way, rotates, in the center of which may be a “Black Hole. Although the conjunction will not be exact until December 28, Pluto is within 1 degree of this conjunction all year. Because of the rarity of this event, it could have great significance and astrologers are widely discussing its possible meaning.

Pluto last approached the Galactic Center in 1758, […]
