Neptune in Pisces

The meaning of Neptune in Aries 2025-2038

artist unknown

About Neptune.

By its very nature, Neptune is difficult to talk about.  It tends to be evasive and dreamy, and full of imagination and artistic creativity.  It also can become lost in the illusion of fantasy and encourage sacrifice of the individual self, sometimes for a higher purpose and sometimes in a codependent loss of Self.  In its highest form Neptune inspires us to transcend the material world and connect deeply and directly with an experience of the Divine.

In my work, the outer planets act as transformational forces to inspire […]

Abundance of flooding with Neptune at the end of Pisces

I recently found an article I wrote in 2011 when Neptune first entered Pisces in which I made some predictions:

artist unknown

“We are likely to see a more advanced wave of “designer” drugs – pharmaceuticals designed to evoke certain experiences.  The legalization of marijuana for medical use, and its adoption by pharmaceutical companies for profit, is likely to come rather quickly.  Neptune in its own sign could bring increased flooding, and potentially also epidemics of new diseases and infections with mysterious origins.”

The epidemic of mysterious origins certainly arrived on […]

Neptune in Pisces update and a peek at the Aries ingress

art by Amanda Clark

The mystical planet Neptune entered the mystical sign of Pisces in 2011, marking the beginning of a period that has been characterized by illusion and deception. Neptune isn’t inherently deceptive; its role in higher consciousness is to encourage the detachment from the mundane in order to have a transcendent experience of bliss and magic, artistry and inspiration. However, the rose-colored glass of Neptune, and the sign of its (modern) rulership Pisces, can lead to susceptibility and a tendency towards taking the easy road […]

Some scientists agree…the Universe is a conscious being

Since the beginning of time, humans have debated the source of consciousness.  Is it all in the physical brain?  Are we just a pack of neurons in a physical body?  Is the sum total of all that we experience contained in the physical body?

A recent article in Aeon Magazine postulated:

Some consciousness researchers see the hard problem as real but inherently unsolvable; others posit a range of options for its account. Those solutions include possibilities that overly project mind into matter. Consciousness might, for example, be an example of the emergence of a […]

Neptune and the Opioid addiction epidemic

Neptune in Pisces artist unknown

Neptune is one of the “transformational” planets – more recently discovered it does not fall under the traditional category of planets which include the luminaries (Sun and Moon) as well as the planets traditionally used by astrologers which include all the other solar system planets through Saturn.  I have found that the transformational planets do not operate on a personal level; instead, they inspire and motivate change.

At its higher level of operation, Neptune encourages us to transcend the boundaries of the material world in order to enjoy a […]

Sao Paulo: harbinger of water wars

water warsOne of the world’s largest cities is in an unprecedented water crisis.  Sao Paulo, South America’s largest city and the twelfth largest city in the world, is expected to run out of water by June of 2015.  Much of the drought in Brazil is due to the deforestation of the Amazon which increases the levels of heat and reduces rainwater.

Aside from air, living things most need water to survive.  When water disappears, the wealthy are able to purchase water such as we saw last year when billionaires paid millions […]

The Fifth Sacred Thing and upcoming Water Wars

10491447_sIn 1993 Starhawk, an early spokesperson for the neo-pagan movement, wrote a book called The Fifth Sacred Thing.  In this post-apocalyptic novel, set in San Francisco, a theocratic dictatorship has seized all of the assets of the earth: air, food and water, and is the sole source of pharmaceutical antidotes for the ecological poisons they themselves create.  The Fifth Sacred Thing is Spirit, after the four elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

It is a scenario that is not so far-fetched today, but in 1993 a world such as this seemed […]

Neptune in Pisces: “The future of live entertainment is dead”

While Neptune is usually considered a planet of spirituality, it also is the ruler of the experience of the masses.  We usually put “entertainment” in that category, and now that Neptune has slipped into Pisces the nature of reality and entertainment is beginning to have the famous Neptunian blurring effect.  Augmented reality will change the way we view our world, and now holographic performances are making an appearance at rock festivals. Last weekend at the Coachella festival an apparent holographic image of the beloved rap icon Tupac Shakur gave a […]

Neptune in Pisces and the Forgetting Pill

The search for a pill to help us erase bad memories is not a new thing.  The film “The Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind” came out in 2004 which was well before Neptune even thought about entering Pisces.  Pluto was finishing his journey through Sagittarius (1995-2008) during which optimism and positive thinking (Sagittarian traits) rose to an art form.  Pluto tends to bring a compulsive drive to any sign that it travels through, and while a certain degree of optimism and positivism is a good thing, the benefits of this kind of thinking end when […]

Neptune in Pisces and the question of reality

augmented realityNeptune just slipped back into Pisces where it will remain until 2025.  Neptune’s role in the astrological pantheon is to cause us to question where the physical world ends and a more transcendent reality begins.  It therefore rules our spiritual experience, but it can also be confusing and induce delusion if our grasp of reality begins to slip.

Over the past few years Neptune was in Aquarius, which is ruled by Uranus (modern rulership), and Aquarius, the sign ruled by Uranus, was in Pisces which is Neptune’s sign. […]
