Neptune in Aries

Neptune re-enters Aries and the world is on fire

Sorry to be dramatic, but this was a headline I saw recently and it seemed appropriate. Neptune hasn’t yet re-entered Aries, but already the fog (Neptune) of action and reaction has stepped up in intensity. In the past few weeks, the U.S. has invaded Venezuela and taken over its oil industry (oil itself is ruled by Neptune); protests in Iran have resulted in a crackdown and complete internet black-out, with thousands of protestors supposedly killed; wildfires are spreading out of control in Patagonia and Australia … and we’re not even really […]

Saturn/Neptune and the Walk for Peace

On October 25, 2025, a group of Buddhist monks from Fort Worth Texas left their home on a walk for peace to spread the Light of Dhamma, the path to enlightenment, to Washington D.C. I only recently became aware of this when Facebook postings started to appear, announcing the visit of the monks to my home county.

Led by the loyal peace dog Aloka, the monks have walked through towns and cities across the southern U.S. and the response has been incredible. It turns out that the simple message of peace and spiritual […]

Neptune, Uranus, and the US at war

History may not always repeat itself, but it often rhymes.

Nowhere is this more true than in astrology in which we often try to predict the future based on astrological indicators from the past. It is true that the last time Neptune entered Aries the Civil War began, and this has led some astrologers to predict that we are about to embark on another war. And in fact President Trump has just announced that he will rename the Pentagon the “Department of War,” signifying a change of perspective from defense to offense.

Whether […]

The astrology of Joanna Macy: Healing and reconnection

“The most remarkable feature of this historical moment is not that we are on the way to destroying our world–we’ve actually been on the way quite a while. It is that we are beginning to wake up, as from a millenia-long sleep, to a whole new relationship to our world, to ourselves, and to each other.”

This is not intended to be an in-depth chart analysis, but rather an astrological tribute. Joanna Macy, an eco-Buddhist warrior and teacher, died last weekend at the age of 96. She was a powerful presence and a […]

The meaning of Saturn in Aries, 2025-2028

artist link

Saturn will enter Aries on May 24th for the first time since 1996, completing a 30-year cycle of Saturn through the zodiac signs of the ecliptic. Saturn is said to be in its fall in Aries; the discipline needed to accomplish Saturn’s urge for structure can be lacking under the impulsivity of Mars-ruled Aries which tends towards initiating new actions and a bold new direction. By its nature Saturn can be cautious and pessimistic which tends to put the brakes on Aries need for action, resulting  in […]

The meaning of Neptune in Aries 2025-2038

artist unknown

About Neptune.

By its very nature, Neptune is difficult to talk about.  It tends to be evasive and dreamy, and full of imagination and artistic creativity.  It also can become lost in the illusion of fantasy and encourage sacrifice of the individual self, sometimes for a higher purpose and sometimes in a codependent loss of Self.  In its highest form Neptune inspires us to transcend the material world and connect deeply and directly with an experience of the Divine.

In my work, the outer planets act as transformational forces to inspire […]

The astrology of 2025: A year of change

AI artist unknown

A few years ago (2022) I wrote this article about the planetary cycles coming up in the 2020s and so far we are right on track:

2023. The entry of Pluto into Aquarius will cement the shift into the Age of Air. I’ll be writing about this in greater depth, but the first few years of Pluto’s entry into a sign typically brings great change and we are likely to see a burgeoning of machine intelligence along with a splintering of the tendency of humans to […]

Abundance of flooding with Neptune at the end of Pisces

I recently found an article I wrote in 2011 when Neptune first entered Pisces in which I made some predictions:

artist unknown

“We are likely to see a more advanced wave of “designer” drugs – pharmaceuticals designed to evoke certain experiences.  The legalization of marijuana for medical use, and its adoption by pharmaceutical companies for profit, is likely to come rather quickly.  Neptune in its own sign could bring increased flooding, and potentially also epidemics of new diseases and infections with mysterious origins.”

The epidemic of mysterious origins certainly arrived on […]

Neptune in Pisces update and a peek at the Aries ingress

art by Amanda Clark

The mystical planet Neptune entered the mystical sign of Pisces in 2011, marking the beginning of a period that has been characterized by illusion and deception. Neptune isn’t inherently deceptive; its role in higher consciousness is to encourage the detachment from the mundane in order to have a transcendent experience of bliss and magic, artistry and inspiration. However, the rose-colored glass of Neptune, and the sign of its (modern) rulership Pisces, can lead to susceptibility and a tendency towards taking the easy road […]
