The big news this week is Jupiter bring its expansive powers of confidence and optimism into the usually sensible and practical sign of Capricorn. Historically, financial markets have done very well when Jupiter is in its own sign of Sagittarius – economics rely on optimism of the masses to stay buoyed up, and when that optimism begins to crack we start to see a contraction. When citizens don’t feel optimistic about their future they stop spending, and then factories slow down production, and there is a domino effect leading to a downturn
