Astrological generations and why Gen Z has trouble at work

art by Verena Wild

  • Pluto in Cancer 1912-1937: The “Greatest Generation.” Governed by Cancer, they prioritized family and sacrificed themselves for their countries.
  • Pluto in Leo 1937-1956: Boomers. Leo celebrates the Self, and my generation has made an art form out of self-expression, sometimes to the detriment of others.
  • Pluto in Virgo 1956-1971 (sometimes called Late Boomers) the first half of Gen X. Sometimes called the “Slacker generation,” Virgo […]

Millenials: The loneliest generation

A new article by Vox News reports that 30% of the age group commonly referred to as Millenials (described in this article as age 22-38, corresponding exactly to the period when Pluto was in Scorpio, is lonely.

22 percent of millennials in the poll said they had zero friends. Twenty-seven percent said they had “no close friends,” 30 percent said they have “no best friends,” and 25 percent said they have no acquaintances.

This 30% loneliness figure compares with 15% of the Baby Boomers born under Pluto in Leo, […]

A look at Generation Z: The Pluto in Sagittarius generation

Pluto in Sagittarius generationPluto moves through a sign approximately every 20 years – its orbit is elliptical and there is a huge variation in the length of time Pluto spends in any sign – from 12 to 30 years!  Each sign that Pluto moves through marks a new generation with a new set of issues and priorities (other posts on generations can be found here).

NYT asks: “What is it about 20-somethings?”

Answer:  They have Pluto in Sagittarius.

This question pops up everywhere, underlying concerns about “failure to launch” and “boomerang kids.” Two new sitcoms feature grown children moving back in with their parents — “$#*! My Dad Says,” starring William Shatner as a divorced curmudgeon whose 20-something son can’t make it on his own as a blogger, and “Big Lake,” in which a financial whiz kid loses his Wall Street job and moves back home to rural Pennsylvania. A cover of The New Yorker last spring picked up on the zeitgeist: a young […]

Pluto in Leo generation “beset by disabilities”

baby boomer disabilities
The National Health Interview survey found that disabilities for people between the ages of 50 and 64 are on the rise, a statistic that contrasts with a decline in disabilities for people aged 65 and over.   The age group in trouble is the one that was born between 1945 and 1960 which corresponds to the Pluto in Leo generation.  (You can read more about that generation, also called “baby boomers,” here.

While the total number of adults reporting physical problems in this age group did not change […]

Pluto in Virgo: The Slacker generation and the new fiscal conservatism

slackersGenerations of people can be defined by the sign that Pluto was traveling in at the time of the birth of that population group.  The Pluto in Leo generation, the “baby boomers,” are famous for being self-involved and self-important, as you would expect from a group that is compulsively driven (Pluto) to break through the barriers of the sign of Leo, the sign of the ego.  Pluto was in Virgo between 1958 and 1971, and that generation is now between 38 and 53 years old.

The generation defined by Pluto experiences a […]
