Astrological update for the week of November 16, 2020 including election post-mortem

Last week we finished a couple of important astrological cycles (the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction and the fact that Mars turned direct) but the effects have lingered, and this is a topic of discussion in this week’s video.  I also talk a bit about upcoming planetary factors which will affect the way the post-election drama unfolds. This week the influences are more subtle and give us an opportunity to take a breath and catch up to ourselves.  The transcript is below for those who prefer to read. ❤️

Important planetary news this week: The conjunction of Saturn to Pluto, a contraction of major proportions

Image result for the only house standing in mexico beach

The best thing that can be said about the upcoming conjunction of Saturn to Pluto is that the exact alignment only occurs one time.  Saturn is a personal planet and operates in the personal realm, challenging us to face our responsibilities and work diligently towards our goals and often testing us in various ways to increase our emotional and physical endurance.  Pluto is a transpersonal planet; its influence can be more ruthless in its pressure to create and support personal transformation.  Saturn makes things hard, […]

Happy Winter Solstice holiday!

Winter Solstice 2015 Winter Solstice card by Ernestine Grindal

It’s only recently, when Pluto (the destroyer of paradigms) moved through Sagittarius (the sign of shared belief and theology, among other things such as travel, world culture, etc.) that a healthy skepticism over religious dogma has moved into the mainstream.  Since that time it has become easier to find scholarly articles about the origin of the Christmas holiday that celebrates the supposed birth of Jesus on December 25th.  In fact, in 2012 even Pope Benedict questioned the […]

A Pope for the Uranus/Pluto square

Pope Francis astrologyAs you know if you’ve been reading the astrological news in the past few years, we are now in the waning phase of a square aspect (90 degrees) between Uranus and Pluto.  You can read more about this phase in the sidebar of this blog if this concept is new to you, and you may want to catch up on this post about the Uranus/Pluto square from last year detailing the news events that correlate […]

St. Patrick’s Day musings

St Patrick's Day astrologyArt by Jim FitzPatrick. Every now and then I do think about things that are not astrological in nature, and occasionally I like to indulge those wanderings in this blog.  So please forgive my digression as I delve today into the meaning of St. Patrick’s Day.

I am a bit of a freak about Ireland (also West Africa, but that’s another story for another time).  I love the music, am thrilled by the legends and mysterious beauty of the country.  So you would think I […]

Pluto in Capricorn – destruction of the Vatican?

Pope BenedictCapricorn rules the structures that give our society form and maintain social order, and for 1500 years the most powerful social structure on our planet has been the Roman Catholic Church. With its own city, its own government and its own rules, the Church answers to no worldly leaders. In fact, for hundreds of years the Church was the supreme authority over even the most powerful of monarchs.

So the current scandal in the Catholic church is about more than pedophilia; it’s about the very question of […]

Pope facilitates the beginning of healing under Chiron and Neptune

Better late than never I suppose:

The sexual abuse of children is not just a “heinous crime” but a “grave sin” that offends God and wounds human dignity, Pope Benedict XVI  said Tuesday after a two-day meeting with Irish Catholic bishops at the Vatican.

The weakening of faith has also been a “significant contributing factor” in the sexual abuse of minors, the pope said, adding that “current painful situation will not be resolved quickly.”

The pope’s comments came in a written Vatican statement at the end of the meeting, the largest one yet about the scandal that has rocked the church from Ireland to the Vatican […]

Alito’s personality is unveiled

Now that the hearings have begun, we’re starting to see more about how Alito really works. Alito is an Aries male, and to really understand an Aries male from the inside check out this poem sent by a poster here, Michael J. Farrand. It really captures the essence of the Warrior archetype. My earlier post named Alito the “Cautious Warrior” and this is proving to be true. Although we don’t have Alito’s birth time which would give us his rising sign/ascendant which describes the mask that he wears to the world, quotes like this give us a good indication:

“He’s mild-mannered […]
