This week brings some shifts in energies as the Sun moves into Scorpio, beginning the Scorpio season of darkness, myth and magic. With the mind already processing the inner workings of the psyche now that Mercury is in Scorpio, and Jupiter’s entry into Scorpio squeezes out the nasty secrets in the entertainment business as well as the political realm (both Jupiter’s realm), we can no longer hide from the difficult and the dark.
On a positive note, challenging conversations may become easier under the influence of Scorpio, and our personal path to growth can be illuminated with the Sun aligned with expansive Jupiter. Mars, the planet that inspires and motivates us, has moved into Libra where it yearns to find balance and integrate the confusion of opposites into one complete whole of understanding and compassion.
Over the next two weeks you may find yourself feeling more emotionally sensitive and reactive than usual as a challenging square aspect takes shape between Saturn (tests and insecurity) and Chiron (emotional wounds). While this can be an uncomfortable dynamic, it can also help to facilitate the processing and release of old wounds that bind us to the past.

Lynn:
Thanks for this especially reminding us about the Saturn sq Chiron aspect!! Once again, I thought I was going fruitloops because I have felt so vulnerable the last couple of days and had a disagreement with a friend. Of course this sort of domino effect has occurred for me throwing me emotionally off balance. I think my progressed(?) chart also has Saturn conjunct Chiron now. I am not sure how a conjunct aspect mixes with a transit. Does it mean you get a double dose? Please try to laugh at my ignorance about the astrological technicalities even through it would be justified!
Gina, I think you might need some clarification on terms. A square and a conjunction are both aspects or geometric angles between two planets. The progressed chart is the natal chart as it evolves through time. When planets move, or transit, through the sky and make an aspect or geometric angle to either our natal chart OR our progressed chart, we call those transits.
It can be confusing for even an experienced astrologer to synthesize all of these events that happen simultaneously. On the one hand, Saturn is square Chiron and apparently it’s hitting something sensitive in your chart. But there are a hundred other things going on at the same time and the magic, which takes years of study and practice, is to find a way to weave all of these elements into a story. That’s my job!!
Lynn:
As always, thanks so much!!
You’re so welcome Gina!
