The predominant planetary influence this week and next centers around our relationship to our bodies.  But not just our relationship to our bodies, our experience of being IN a body and all that this entails:  the connection between the body, mind and spirit; the food that we take in to nourish and nurture ourselves and our relationship with food; the stuck places where old emotional stress has lodged to create an imbalance of energy in the body.

Geeky astrological details:  Chiron is stationary and turns retrograde this week, Uranus trines Ceres, and Saturn trines Ceres next week.   Four other planets are currently retrograde.

As humans we tend to fragment ourselves – depending on the elemental balance of air (intellect), fire (drive), water (emotions) and earth (grounded practicality), we often find ourselves experiencing our lives through just one facet of our personality.  This causes a disconnect that can make us feel out of sorts, and sometimes escalate to illness and mental distress.

The next two weeks could shine a light into areas of our lives where this dissonance may be affecting us, and help us to heal these disconnected places.  Hatha (physical asanas) yoga is a centuries-old tool to integrate the body, the mind, and the energy systems within.  So is Tai Chi and Chi Gung.  But we can also use the tool of mindfulness to turn within and learn more about areas of disconnect which may have been unconscious for years (perfect for the retrograde influence of Mars which inspires us to look back into the past).

Between July 4th and the 10th we may find ourselves feeling dissatisfied and at odds with the world around us.  (Mercury opposite Mars and then square Jupiter) .  Because we will already be attuned to inner discord and finding greater internal balance, these Mercury patterns will help us to integrate on the intellectual and mental level as well as the more personal or emotional one.
