Sorry to be dramatic, but this was a headline I saw recently and it seemed appropriate. Neptune hasn’t yet re-entered Aries, but already the fog (Neptune) of action and reaction has stepped up in intensity. In the past few weeks, the U.S. has invaded Venezuela and taken over its oil industry (oil itself is ruled by Neptune); protests in Iran have resulted in a crackdown and complete internet black-out, with thousands of protestors supposedly killed; wildfires are spreading out of control in Patagonia and Australia … and we’re not even really into the Neptune journey through Aries.

Coincidentally, someone sent me a message today about the Fire Horse year in Chinese astrology. ““Historically and socially, Fire Horse years often coincide with upheaval, cultural shifts, and bold collective movements, where people feel compelled to challenge authority, redefine identity, and push for radical change.”

Neptune was in Aries between March 30 and July 5 of 2025 before retrograding back into Pisces where it remains, at 29º for the past few months. The changing climate has been an issue for many years before this, but it seems to have dramatically accelerated in 2025. In July the Union of Concerned Scientists declared “Heat, Floods and Fires” to be their main concern right now.

The United States is already affected by this transit, since Neptune is opposing the Midheaven in the U.S. chart (conjunct the IC, the cusp of the 4th house of the people), creating chaos and confusion (more on the U.S. astrology in posts coming soon).

But Neptune in Aries will also bring some fresh new energy into spiritual and creative endeavors to fuel our imagination and add spark to the innovation of Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus which will soon be in Gemini. The beautiful Peace Walk of the Buddhist monks through the U.S. to Washington in the midst of winter is an example of spirituality (Neptune) in action (Aries).

Between 2025 and 2028 a Minor Grand Trine features Neptune at the midpoint of the harmonious trine (120º) between Uranus and Pluto. With all of the transformative outer planets working together in harmony, change on a higher level can occur.

There are unique and positive potentials in these placements, since Aries encourages us to try something outside of our comfort zone. With Pluto newly in innovative Aquarius, we could embrace the new and enter an exciting new stage in our lives. The inspiration of Neptune could give a boost to our creativity, and Aries courage can help us to manifest with power and confidence.
