Mars, planet of action, anger and motivation, went into Aries in late June, and by August was aligning in a square to the Capricorn stellium of Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn. In its focus on being serious, doing the hard work and building lasting structures Capricorn tends to put the kibosh on Mars, leading to some unpleasant circumstances as we’ve seen recently.
Mars makes its second square to Pluto this week, and this can be an intense alignment. I made a little video to help us further understand the challenges and benefits of this alignment.
Thank you so much for this Lynn it’s so helpful to me. I have Mars transiting my moon in Aries in the 11th and Pluto transiting my Venus in Capricorn in the 7th. Lots of changes happening for me, wanting to channel my energies inwards and look after myself better. Doing some healing body work. Friendships are changing and the way I relate to others. All good stuff!
That sounds really good, Theresa and I’m happy to hear the video was helpful. 👍🏼
very helpful Thanks
Thanks, Ellen.❤️
Mars is transiting my 8th house (natal Mercury and Chiron in Aries), but I don’t feel any different. LOL
How would we even know with so much planetary stuff going on! 🤓
Hello Lynn. This has been a trying year even without a pandemic. Besides Mars Square Pluto, the Capricorn stellium of Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn have been squaring my natal planets in Libra all year and slowing my life to a near halt. Pluto is also inconjunct my natal Pluto in Leo (22° 56′). Tomorrow’s Mars square Pluto has Mars exactly opposite my Libra Moon (22° 48′). And Saturn stationed square my Libra Sun (25° 17′). So when Saturn and Pluto turned direct recently it was like a sudden burst of energy and I can breathe again. I’m thankful Saturn and Jupiter are moving into Aquarius soon! You may have had the same restrictions as me since our charts are similar. Happy Birthday this week! Mine is on the 18th. Thanks for the video.
Hi Greg! It’s good to hear from you. Yes, it’s been a difficult year for so many. Happy birthday to you as well! take good care. ❤️
Thanks Lynn for this video. It is very helpful! There really seems to be a shift going on. I am so grateful for your willingness to share your knowledge with us.
Hi Miche! Thanks, I’m happy to share and glad that people are finding the information useful.
Always appreciate when you talk about the “higher levels” of these planets. So easy to loose this perspective in this chaotic environment where everything seems to be blowing up! Very helpful to me….
Thanks Rita, I do believe there is a higher purpose and I always try to find a way to express that as well as the cold hard facts.
Greetings, my question , what is it about Pluto squaring mars in a birth chart that tips off violence /trauma being present in ones life? My own chart has that and you speak of it in the video also. ?
Mars represents our need to learn how to assert ourselves with strength, and Pluto is in a difficult aspect to Mars shows from an evolutionary perspective that there is a need to learn empowerment and self defense. For that to happen we seem to sometimes need to be born into situations that force us to learn those lessons. 💕
ouch!
My s.o. has a natal Mars square Pluto just 1 degree apart – Mars is in the second in Scorpio, and Pluto is in the 11th in Leo. Back in Aug there was a major break/turning point in our relationship mid-month, that rippled all the way through mid-Sept, a whole month! I didn’t know if we would survive but we are just coming out of it and still together….. the second exact hit on the square in the past week brought a certain quietness (compared to the Aug one) moving forward…
I know 2nd house has to do with self-worth as well as money and possessions, what would a square to the 11th house mean? I know there was verbal and physical abuse in his childhood from the father and other male relatives. I do not know about sexual, it has never been said..
I’m just trying to figure out what a Mars/Pluto square from the 2nd to the 11th would mean.
It really depends on the rest of the chart and what kind of planetary transits and progressions are happening. I would look less at the houses and more at the rest of the chart and what else might be triggered at this time. Sometimes though when something difficult erupts there can be great healing at the other end. It’s when the darkness lies buried that we tend to have problems.
Thanks mam. Probably you have hit Bull’s Eye. So accurately summed up all the events.
Thanks once again.
I have been following you for some time now and really appreciate your teachings. I am learning a lot! For a few years now I have used a Daily planetary guide by Llewelyn. I wonder if you have a calendar you recommend?
Hi Tammy, thank you! Unfortunately I’m afraid I don’t know of a guide to recommend. I use my professional astrologer software. There is an app though called Time Passages that’s available on both Iphone and Android which is very good for tracking your transits and includes some excellent interpretations. Then you can enter the information into your own calendar, perhaps.
Tammy, I just realized – if you’re signed up for my Planetary Illuminations report (there’s a subscription box in the sidebar) it comes with a planetary calendar.
