Already I have received many emails begging me for more negative information on Trump’s planetary cycles. Trust me folks, I have looked for it. I just report the astrological news, I don’t make it!! I’m sure there will be an active discussion in the comments so check it out.
Many of you have written to me asking for an update on the chart of Donald Trump. Last year I published this profile, and now he is the presumptive Republican nominee for the US presidency.
When I write a profile of people in the news I attempt to put aside my personal feelings and let the astrology speak for itself. There are a number of different factors going on for The Donald in the progressed chart this year that suggest we may see a more serious candidate. (The progressed chart shows the evolution of the personality through time; it doesn’t change our basic personality but shows the ways in which we evolve and change and shows opportunities and challenges that may be presented to us at various times of our lives.)
The first is the transition that I wrote about last year of his progressed Midheaven, revealing the evolution of his career path, which just moved from emotional Cancer into Leo in March of this year. This shift coincided with his entering the presidential race.
In August of 2016 Trump’s progressed Sun will move from self-absorbed Leo into Virgo, causing a shift into more of a Virgoan concern for details and service. This transition has the potential to change the face of Trump’s candidacy which up until now has been primarily bombast and rhetoric. Please note that these movements in the chart do not fundamentally change the personality but merely indicate subtle changes of direction and choice.
Astrologers often cast a chart for the moment that the Sun returns to its place at birth in order to get a picture of an individual’s coming year. Trump’s Solar Return chart shows an extremely fortunate conjunction of the Sun and Venus, with Venus bestowing blessings of attraction and success. Uranus, the disrupter, sits at the Midheaven of the Return chart, threatening to create havoc and suggesting that some sort of reversal is still possible.
The upcoming planetary cycles affecting Trump’s chart are overwhelmingly favorable. Jupiter is the planet which open the doors of opportunity and often bestows confidence and good luck, and Trump has a number of Jupiter cycles beginning in August and extending into the election season.
The opportunities presented by Jupiter are sometimes unexpected. If as some say Trump never really wanted to be President, Jupiter could release him from the race and he could lose. And because the confidence bestowed by Jupiter can make us complacent, there is always the danger that like the hare who raced against the tortoise, the hare could become overconfident and lose the race that way.
Some astrologers such as this one have attempted to predict failure for the Trump candidacy by pointing out the transit of Saturn, the planet of challenge and frustration, to Trump’s Sun and Moon. Unfortunately for Trump haters, Saturn doesn’t get involved in the astrological picture until well after the election.
I’ll be writing more about the election in the next few weeks. For now, it looks like Donald Trump will be having a pretty good birthday.
…and you don’t think jupiter in VIRGO square his Sun doesn’t indicate over confidence and bad luck through misjudgments? Seriously? I don’t see a positive chsrt st all bode the 3rd quarter of the year.
Sorry Judi, but you can’t make a blanket statement that Jupiter in Virgo square the Sun always causes bad luck, especially for someone like Trump who has made a life of overconfidence and misjudgments and without Saturn events to force a reality check. His Jupiter return is in the fall, and before then there are numerous Jupiter events that suggest an easy path. That said, easy paths don’t necessarily lead to success, especially where something like leadership of the free world is concerned.
Thanks for the post/I appreciate that you always tell it like is no matter what/I have been troubled by the rheteric of both candidates and see two deeply flawed people as the choice. I wonder what the chart of the USA is looking like and if it offers a more hopeful view.
I like your post, as well as the Pluto post about the U.S. But when you say that Trump has “Jupiter cycles” this year, it’s not very clear what this means, plus you then suggest that Jupiter could be Trump’s undoing. And above, “numerous Jupiter events.”

Chris, while I disagree with the premise of your comments I do think it’s interesting that you are correct about Trump’s progressed Sun conjunct Regulus, or at least it will be by the time of the election.

Well, I hoped this prediction was wrong, or that in his heart of hearts he didn’t want to be President. Sadly, I was wrong. What do you think his administration will be like? I fear he will repeal ACA, and several of my family members are on it.
