I was watching Morning Joe this morning while exercising because there was nothing on the DVD. Today is election day in the US so it was interesting hearing the discussion about which party will make the difference if they win the Senate. What most of the panelists agree on is that there will be no difference – no matter which party wins tonight gridlock will continue. If the Democrats retain the majority the two parties will fail to compromise, and if the Republicans win a majority there will be gridlock between the establishment Republicans and the more conservative challengers of their own party.
If they read the astrology news along with the Wall Street Journal they would understand that this is because of the square aspect between Uranus in Aries – the challenger, the innovator, the harbinger for change and individual rights – and Pluto in Capricorn – the holder and consolidator of power, the dominating force. Ever since these two planets began their dance in 2010 (and before that really, since Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008) there has been this kind of tug and pull between conservative notions of reality (Capricorn Pluto) and the pressure to burst out of old paradigms and try something new (Aries Uranus).
The square aspect continues into 2015 so the pundits are correct when they say that this battle between the old and the new will continue until the 2016 elections. In the meantime, the old structures are failing and the two party political system in the US may be falling with it.
Very well said, Ms. Hayes. Thank you for posting.
One can only hope.
I would like to make a correction here. Fortunately Pluto will leave Capricorn on January 21, 2024 and enter Aquarius where it will stay until it enters Pisces on March 9, 2042. It will Retrograde back into Capricorn on September 1 2024 and stay in Capricorn until November 21, 2024 according to my American Ephemeris for the 21st Century by Neil F. Michelsen. I hope that might give you so comfort knowing it isn’t so long. You are right West Winds about the USA being totally changed with Pluto in Capricorn opposite our natal Sun.
I see this opposition as a fight between those in Government (10th house) and the common person 4th house. The Government wants to own and control everything and the people want to hold on to what little property they have left. I wonder will the common person still be able to hold any personal property at the end of Pluto’s stay in Capricorn. Will Pluto’s move into Aquarius mean that no one will own any personal property and it will all belong to the State, meaning the Federal Government like is used to be in Communist Russia because that is where we are leading to. Think about it?
I hope 2016 brings us better news. Pluto won’t leave Capricorn until 2030. This plus being in the Age of Aquarius says money, doing business, and only a very general concern for human sufferings on a global, “over there” kind of way.
By the time these planet leave these positions, America will only be a distant memory; we were declared on the radio two weeks ago as “officially” no longer being a democracy but now we are a totalitarian oligarchy.
I live in FL and between the federal and state elections, if I were a drinking woman, this would be a double martini kind of morning. Ugh.
West Winds, I completely understand where you are coming from.
I can’t believe that we have to look at Bat Boy/Fire Marshall Bill for another four years and watch him finish what Jeb Bush started almost two decades ago.
Oh My God, people! This country will never become a Communist or a Socialist state, because we will never allow it. We are too self centered, and like owning stuff too much to allow anyone to take that away. Our politicians, regardless of whatever they may say, are the first ones to want to own stuff, and to not like to get stuff taken away. The only way we would ever establish a communist government is through an armed revolution or some sort of catastrophe. As I said, we are too self centered to even think about anything else other than owning shit! So stop getting your panties into a bunch, and panicking about stuff that will not happen any time soon. Cut back on your Limbaugh listening, and try to read a good relaxing book.
