As some of you know, I have been exploring the meaning of the Black Moon Lilith ever since I discovered she conjoined my Pluto and South Node, explaining a lot about the trauma in my past and relationship issues.
In my experimentation with clients I have come to think of Lilith as describing a primal female rage against the patriarchy and domination of men. In the story of Lilith, she was Adam’s first wife and was equal to him. When she refused to lie under him Adam threw her out and asked Jehovah to provide him with a more suitable mate and it was then that Jehovah fashioned Eve out of Adam’s rib to ensure that she would remain submissive to him (except for that whole apple thing). Lilith “flew away” or was banished, depending on who you believe, and spent the rest of her years howling in the night with rage for her children who were killed by the angels of God. Under the patriarchal religions of the Piscean age she was transformed into a demon, a succubus,
The Black Moon Lilith (not to be confused with the Dark Moon or the Lilith asteroid) is not a body in the sky, but a focal point between the Earth and the farthest point of the lunar orbit. (See this image from Kelley Hunter’s excellent article about Lilith.)
In a regression a few years ago I uncovered an ancient life in which during a bloody battle I was raped and my children murdered in front of me. I have always been fearful of having children and I felt that the residual anxiety from this ancient life had bled into my current one. Coincidentally, shortly thereafter I calculated the position of the Black Moon Lilith in my chart and discovered its powerful placement in my conjunction from my Moon (mother/children) to Pluto (death and destruction) which are also aligned with my South Node (the past). This seemed beyond coincidence to me and drove me to experiment with the Black Moon Lilith in every client chart. I also noticed that the BML, as she is affectionately known, was tightly aligned with the Moon in the chart of my ex and the Sun in my husband’s chart.
From this research I have found that when the Black Moon Lilith is aligned with another planet or angle (ascendant or midheaven) in the chart there tends to be, in its mildest form, an innate sense of the inequity of the dominant male culture and desire for justice. and in its most extreme, a profound feminine rage against the patriarchical system in general and sometimes against men in particular. Men with a strong BML in their chart tend to be drawn to women who exhibit Lilith tendencies – powerful in nature and usually with a strong sexual vibration – although this often manifests as an attraction/repulsion dynamic due to a fear of the power of the Lilith archetype.
Recently I listened to a podcast with actor Rose McGowan. I have seen Ms. McGowan in films and television but knew very little about her. She has been an outspoken warrior for women’s rights for years, but her naked expressions of rage against the unfairness to women in the film industry and her strong
feminist viewpoints were so profoundly Lilithian I had to investigate further. Sure enough, her chart shows a tight conjunction from the Black Moon Lilith to her Moon and in a square to Pluto. Last year Ms. McGowan revealed that she had been raped by a studio head, and in the podcast she alludes to other traumas in her past.
The rulership of the world by men began to dominate human consciousness during the Age of Aries, the warrior age (approximately 2000 bce to 0 ce), and continued through the age of Pisces, the religious age (approximately – 0ce to 2100). It was during the Uranus/Pluto conjunction of the mid-1960s that feminine power began to re-emerge, a harbinger of the Age of Aquarius into which we are transitioning.
I believe that the archetype of the Black Moon Lilith is emerging now to help to heal the damage of the past several thousands of years. The fear of the power of women is evident everywhere in our political system right now as the dying Piscean age gives way to the Aquarius ideals and the men that run the world attempt to bring back masculine dominance. Lilith teaches that we must learn to normalize the archetype of feminine power into our own psyches and our culture in order to find true harmony in the world, and the only way that this can be done is through reclaiming this power within our own selves as women, and for men to honor and respect and even embrace the wisdom of the dark feminine rather than fear it.

I have most of the lilith’s in Virgo, except for the Waldemath that is in Cancer (same as my moon). All are in House 2, where Pluto also is. If Pluto and BML are in the same house, barely a few degrees away from each other, they are not in alignment, right?

I’m working a lot to balance the feminine and masculine, this resonated a bit.
Thanks a lot!
Hi Laura, this link didn’t work for me, I think you have to be logged in as you to view the chart. But if your Pluto and BML are barely a few degrees from each other they are in a conjunction which would give BML power in your chart.
Thanks Lynn! Yeah, the link does not work and I don’t know how to show you the chart, but in any case I will look at this sometime in my future… I’m itching to learn more about astrology as I keep seeing how it seems to be in sync with what I’m feeling and what is happening lately… quite often!
I always love when you write this kind of topics, but this one particularly helped me. Thank you so much for your articles about astrology, you have an inner knowledge about it and I’m always looking for your updates. Thanks
Thank you Azucena! I am hoping to be writing more, I go through some periods that are more fertile than others and I think I’m entering one of those fertile periods.
I checked my chart, which is virtually the same as yours, Lynne, and was not too surprised to find BML conjunct my Pluto on the nadir and within 4 degrees of my moon. This explains a lot, and I thank you for writing about the topic so readers could research and reflect.
My life has certainly been true to the energies you describe. My ex-husband’s BML is square mine by an orb of 4 degrees, and this was the key conflict of our years together.
Interesting about your husband, Valerie. Would you mind sharing more about these details? How did your husband respond to these energies?
I know and feel it viscerally… she’s calling us to stand. Thanks so much…??
thank you for this excellent and timely offering.
Thanks Weaver!
Beautiful, spot on… A different article on BML pointed out it’s importance and why I always run into clashes with the establishment, the dominant energy; whether expressed by males or females. (BML in sag, 10th house). BMl is involved in 2 yod’s… One as the focus (Sag. 10th house) with Venus and Pluto sextile, one as a sextile with Saturn and Venus as the focus. Time seems to be pushing all of us to come into harmony and go towards non-duality. Exciting times indeed. What is your take on Yods? Do they work for calculated points? For me it seems valid.
Thanks Wim. I don’t see Yods as the magic “Finger of Gods” with the mystical power they are often assigned, but they are a useful and helpful aspect that helps to push us towards the Apex planet. I wrote about the Yod in Beyonce’s chart here, you might find that article interesting.

Very interesting ❤️ I have just discovered I have BML in Scorpio conjunct my Sun in Scorpio in the 8th house (my sun also conjuncts Uranus in Scorpio, also Mercury Scorpio in there too). Can’t wait to find out more about this placement! X
BML shares some qualities with Scorpio, Jean so that will emphasize the Dark Feminine in your chart even more.

Hi! Really glad to say that your article is very useful to me. I study astrology and I know Astrology claims that the sign, as well as the house Lilith stays in when you read your natal chart, represents the unity of sex and spirituality of every person. It is neither good nor bad in its core, but it contains those dark secrets that anyone usually chooses to keep hidden. However, if you do not accept this side of yourself, that may lead to repression, and no one can predict what the outcome would be.

Hi! True Black Moon Lilith conjunct Ascendant in Aquarius here.
I’d just like to add a few notes that I feel get left out when people reference Lilith’s myth in her relationship to Adam.
For one thing, the record shows that Adam very likely raped Lilith.
The record also shows that Lilith is the mother of Eve.
The record shows that Adam took Eve and deflowered her, and then both were very ashamed.
The record shows that it was Adam and Eve who were exiled from the garden, NOT Lilith.
The record shows that the Forbidden Fruit of the family tree would be the child, Eve. Science is very clear here and proves that degeneration of the DNA, and all kinds of genetic diseases that cause death, occurs due to incest of such close relation.
Adam called Eve “flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone.”
What’s more, Adam claimed that God put him to sleep and when he woke up, viola, there was Eve – his own flesh and blood.
What’s more, Adam claims that Eve was made from his rib – the lowest one, which would be in the same area of the body where a baby would grow. Yet God never designed any man, including Adam, to bear children. That was, is and always shall be a WOMAN’s body.
Baby making draws on the very marrow of a woman’s bone structure. Adam clearly desired to have equal power of creating babies as the woman, in this case, his first wife Lilith.
Adam clearly coveted and resented Lilith’s womb. So he totally ignores her existence and claims full credit of creation of the baby, Eve. As such, Adam claims that just as he has the authority to command his own feet to move, or his eyelid to blink – he has authority over Eve and she must obey and submit to him.
When Adam became attracted sexually, his lizard brain (which exists in us all, and which we here attribute to those deep basic sexual and survival instincts that is Lilith) was not overruled by his moral sense of duty and limits of his power. He molested and took Eve.
And made her his wife instead of Lilith.
That is the plain, simple and easy to see truth that everyone likes to ignore, even while it stares them in the face.
History repeats itself and this theme, and we see it reflected in the story of Medusa, and the story of Ceres and Pluto and Persiphone. These are merely repeats of the original story and its theme.
If Lilith is angry, you can bet your bottom dollar – her anger is righteous.
It’s bad enough what was done to her and to her child.
But she has endured all this time, either being completely ignored OR being discredited, slandered and vilified.
Let’s be clear: Lilith was never, ever exiled from the Garden. Because Lilith never did anything wrong. It was Adam who incurred guilt, and had to cover it up with lies. It was Adam who was exiled from the Garden. And until this is acknowledged, simply acknowledged: there will continue to be bad relations between man and woman as humanity runs around the same hamster wheel, totally missing the point.
Post Script: it is very easy to blame Eve. Most child behaviorists have noted how a young female child says, ‘I’m going to marry my Daddy.”
From whence comes the fallacious statement of any rape victim: “It was consensual, she asked for it, she tempted me, she wanted this.”
Notably, Eve did become wise to her debased situation. And when her children by Adam were born, she is recorded specifically saying, “Look what me and GOD made.” This can be taken as a double meaning. On the one hand she is totally writing Adam out of the credits for the creative production. On the other hand? Adam might hear this and his Ego be stroked because Eve just called him “God.” In any case, anyone who calls a child who says she is going to marry her father “asking for it?” Is clearly sick in spirit, soul and mind.
I’m not sure what record you’re referring to, because there really isn’t much of a record regarding Lilith. I would like to know your sources before I acknowledge the veracity of what you say, such as that Eve was the daughter of Lilith. This doesn’t seem very likely since Eve was crafted from the rib of Adam, the symbolism of which is the whole point of woman being made from, and therefore subservient, to man.
