Events
of the past few years have reminded us that the purchase of a
new home is a big decision to be taken very seriously. Youmay
even wonder if it's worthwhile for you
to buy a home at this time in your life. Although there are many
benefits to
homeownership, your situation may dictate otherwise.
The first step will be to interview buyer
agents. You want to be sure the agent you work with has the
time to spend with you as you go through the process of learning
what you want in a home, and you want to be sure you can communicate
with your agent. You also want to be sure your agent will stay
in contact with you and let you know right away about new listings
that come on the market. If you decide to work with us, we will
search the multiple listing database as well as signs and newspapers
to help ensure that you find the best home for you. In the event
you are unable to reach us by cellphone, we will always return
your calls promptly.
The
second step will be to prequalify for
a loan. There are many kinds of mortgages,
and you will need an experienced lender to help you decide which
loan is right for you. We work with several of the best mortgage
lenders in the Triangle, and can help you get the best interest
rate and closing costs available. Here
is
a good site to help you get ready for the process.
Then
the home search begins. First we will give you a tour of the neighborhoods
where you are likely to find homes in your price range. She will
provide you with market data on homes that have sold in those
neighborhoods to help you become familiar with market value. We
will probably set up an MLS search which will automatically send
you new listings as they come available. We will want to be sure
that you see as many homes as is necessary for you to really know
which one is the right one for you.
