Carrboro Music Festival 2012
The Triangle is a whirlwind of music and fun this coming weekend, with music and arts festivals in virtually every corner. Last weekend Durham saw its annual Centerfest, a highlight of downtown life. Here is a rundown of where you can find the area’s best fun this weekend:
Tuesday and Wednesday, September 24-25: IBMA Bluegrass Ramble with bluegrass music on seven stages in Raleigh.
Friday and Saturday, September 26-28: Wide Open Bluegrass Festival featuring a top-notch lineup of bluegrass acts including Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers and old favorite Sam Bush on two Raleigh stages.
Saturday, September 28: Fresh Roots Festival in Hillsborough. Outdoor yoga, live music, events for kids, and a special evening concert.
Saturday, September 28: Raleigh Irish Festival in Moore Square. Irish music and entertainment all day with traditional sessions in a jam tent.
Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29: Carrboro Music Festival. 180 different local musical acts at 25 indoor and outdoor stages around town.
And in Greensboro, just west of the Triangle, the 17 Days Greensboro Arts Festival kicked off Friday and will run til October 5th.
We are so lucky to live in an area where there are so many great musical opportunities!
